Infections
- I have a recurring rash above my right buttocks cheek. It first appeared about two years ago (I'm 53 and have been marred for 11 years and have never cheated on my husband). This is the 4th time that it has appeared. It is itchy and very red. It will eventually scab and then leaves a brownish scar. The process seems to take a week to 10 days. I can tell when it is going to come as it will get a little itchy in the area. My pants and underwear rub it so I am now putting on large bandages with neosporin or nothing. My primary care physician said that it was herpes. Would it be possible to lay dormant in my body for years and years? I was definitely sexually active with different partners before my marriage. I did date one guy who told me after the fact that he had herpes but never had an outbreak when he was with me (supposedly). I never saw anything on him.
